Immigrant gardeners in community gardens have nurtured a blossoming community out of the gardening traditions of their homelands and the fertile soil of Vancouver, Canada.
Strathcona Community Garden is one of the oldest and largest community gardens in Vancouver.
It started in 1985, has 115 plots and approximately 100 gardeners from various ethnic backgrounds and regions of the world growing organic plants and vegetables that reflect their traditions.
The place may be a community garden, but a wander around the plots feels more like a trip around the world.
